The Young Urban Filmmakers session showcases filmmakers attempting to deal with the myriad of realities and challenges present in many urban environments in America and the world. The films were all shot on low budgets and most with non-professional actors. The stories they tell are real and the ability to get the films made is noteworthy. These filmmakers all epitomize the inner will storytellers all over the world... "Experience MY Truth."

Silent-'Silent' that tells the fictional story of a young man named, Tye (Terrell Finister) whose life spirals out of control, to the point of no return. His story chronicles the tale of events that will lead him on a destructive path that will ultimately destroy the lives of many unsuspecting victims.

Wild Roots-Hakeem a reformed gang member gets out of jail and wants to change his life around but the hood won't left him go easily. Knowing how senseless gang banging is, but what do you do when your pass catches up to you? (R Rated for violence, language, and graphic depictions).

Hope-Move On-This Video Shows the inevitable collision of three characters. The story is nothing strange to what takes place inside the inner city neighborhoods of Los Angeles, California; leaving innocent bystanders and their families struck over the violence that surrounds them in the places they live. The Visual also sheds light on this issue as a means to stop the violence

Nothing to Lose-"A transferring community college student, Michelle, struggles with motivating the self-esteem of her recently disabled live-in boyfriend, Ryan, and begins to get stalked by a stranger after buying him a wheelchair off craigslist."

Ashes-The world is looking for the missing superhero known as Scorch who has gave up a life of fighting crime. Now, trying to live a discreet life, he is in a small apartment where he befriends a young girl that is his neighbor. Once he finds out she is living in an abusive home he must figure out how to help without giving up his identity.
