Joanne Ledesma music roots stem from growing up in the barrio on the outskirts of East
Los Angeles. Her tiny neighborhood (San Gabriel) produced several Chicano acts in
the 50’s, 60’s 70’s & 80s (The Storytellers, The Premiers, El Chicano and Oingo Boingo). Those musicians are responsible for providing the groundwork that would develop a
thriving music business career for her. Ledesma runs her own grassroots company,
Ledesma Music. The focus today is in several areas including music placement,
education, consulting, A&R, producing, management, radio, television and artist
development.   She is the Music Supervisor for her 5k Music Library where she places
music on film and TV regularly. 2017 she produced a full latin & jazz album in her home
studio which features more than 20 guest musicians, many from her old neighborhood.
She has worked with numerous artists like Jackson Browne, Joe Walsh, Carlos
Santana, ZZ Top, Kenny Loggins, John Mayall and Walter Trout, The Delgado Bros,
KISS, Tom Petty, David Crosby, Graham Nash, Andrea Bochelli, Billy Bob Thorton, and
others. She lectures on making music marketable nationally and regularly judges music
competitions in Blues, Rock, Latin and Americana genres.

Previous work includes music analysis as a distinguished A&R Representative or the

teaching Careers in Music, History of Rock & Roll and Concert/Event Promotion    In the
Spring of 2007 Ledesma created and produced the groundbreaking radio show Music
Biz Radio.   January 2011 Ms. Ledesma created a blog which grew into San Gabriel
Valley Music Magazine (SGVmusic.com). She writes all articles which include local
history, celebrity interviews, music business information and trade show coverage.  In
addition she actively promotes unsigned artists for music publishing
